What You Will Do
As a Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performing user-facing applications in a service-oriented environment.
You will:
Design and develop new, and improve existing, backend services with reusable and scalable APIs and core platform functionalities, to enhance system performance and align with business objectives.
Improve and maintain existing systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
Drive product development by collaborating with the application teams, PMs and stakeholders.
Make technical decisions and guide the development team in best practices.
Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
Identify and address technical debt while balancing new feature development.
Work in an agile environment, continuously improving development processes.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in software development.
Deep understanding of system architecture, software design patterns, and performance optimization techniques.
Solid experience with MySQL or other SQL relational databases
Strong understanding of web development, including HTTP, APIs, and client-server architecture.
Ability to lead and mentor developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
Proactive and independent, with a strong ability to take initiative and efficiently solve complex problems.
Innovative mindset, continuously exploring new ideas, technologies, and approaches to enhance workflows and product development.
What Sets You Apart
Strong expertise in Go is a big plus.
Experience designing GraphQL APIs
Experience in Ruby on Rails
Hands-on experience with AI-powered development tools (e.g., AI-assisted code generation, testing, automation, debugging) or a strong willingness to adopt and integrate them into workflows.
Background in event management or similar industries.
Experience working with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS) and infrastructure as code.
Experience working in a product-driven team, delivering customer-centric solutions.
